The trouble of the Grand Alliance

Minor political parties are quickly turning into oozing numbers for the major political formations because the poll ground gradually picks up speed in Bihar with preparations beginning at the amount of the committee likewise as by different political parties.

They have become troublesome for the major parties that is the National Democratic Alliance led by Janata Dal-U and thus for the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress.

In the meanwhile, the Lok Janshakti Party is irritating the NDA allies by asking out a claim on an enhanced number of assembly seats, the Hindustani Awam Morcha, Rashtriya Loktantrik Samata Party and Vikassheel Insaan Party are now becoming a hassle for the Grand Alliance.

The actual reason that the NDA and thus the Mahagathbandhan is tolerating the problem of HAM and also the LJP is their searching for Dalit votes, which constitute nearly 16% of the whole electorate in Bihar.

The Musahars having a total of 5% of the Dalit population are clearly expected to support HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, while the Paswans consisting of 4.5% of the voters are the back of the Ram Vilas Paswan lead LJP. There is greed among the two parties for having either of them among themselves.

LJP and HAM have become the main faces during the changing dimensions of the alliance politics in Bihar. Recently, LJP president Chirag Paswan has started with a unique tune seeking to contest a minimum of 94 assembly seats and, at the same time, questioning the ECI for holding the assembly polls when the state is within the grip of Covid19 pandemic. Which was earlier demanded by the RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav

The growing rupture between the 2 regional parties JD-(U) and LJP has made the job of seat distribution a posh exercise for the BJP, which is working really hard to ease the problem and improve the differences between them. The BJP has already announced that the ruling party (NDA) will fight the polls under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and therefore the LJP leader and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan has also declared to support BJP in all the decisions it takes on the problem of the chief ministerial candidate.

The LJP is achy over the fact that the JD-(U) has never understood its strength in seat-sharing talks while the JD-(U) is annoyed over the recent statements given by Chirag Paswan for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over supposed mishandling of the Covid19 crisis.

Now when the most crucial 2020 Assembly elections are just a few months away, Nitish has meliorated his pro-Dalit strategy by involving a few more Extremely Backward Caste (EBCs) like Dangis into the Mahadalit category. The Dalit votes, 16% of the Bihar voter and which is more than 14% of Yadav votes, have attained significance as Assembly polls are set to be a bipolar contest.
